A GUIDE TO POWERS
[/i]
Now I am making this guide to better help people understand how powers will work on this site. This site is based around being the child of a previous hero, or heroes. However I am not going to punish those who just want to be completely separate, and do their own thing. Now most, if not all, powers can be separated into several categories. These categories include, Biological, Elemental, Magic, Psychic, Energy, Technological and Dimensional. Each of these categories houses different powers.
When you first create your character you are given 4 Power slots. I chose the number 4 because most heroes, or villains back in the day had a ridiculous amount of superpowers, but remember you are their offspring so you don’t get everything right off the bat. You can use these 4 power slots to pick 4 powers from one of the above categories. Some powers will only cost 1 slot, others may cost more depending on what they do.
Now before you choose your powers you will have to choose your power mastery, and your secondary. Your Mastery Category will be your strongest power meaning that if you chose Biological as your mastery, and went up against someone with it as their secondary, and you had the same power, your's would be stronger.

Biological
The Biology of a life is a wondrous thing is it not? With it we are able to stave off wounds, infections, diseases, and all other manner of life threatening situations. Those of us with unique biologies often times have increased physical capabilities that border on the superhuman, or maybe are superhuman. With our enhanced physiologies we are stronger, faster, and more durable than others, and sometimes we might have other surprises. These powers will only take up one of your power slots because they are the most common. Down below is a list of common superpowers that are from this category.
- Superhuman Strength
- Superhuman Durability
- Superhuman Stamina
- Superhuman Speed
- Size Alteration
- Enhanced Senses
- Duplication
- Transformation (Think like a werewolf)
- Shape Shifting (Beastboy, Miss Martian)
- Regeneration
- Self Sustenance
- Superhuman Agility
- Superhuman Equilibrium
- Enhanced Immune System
- Flight
Elemental
You were born to master the elements of nature. Bending them to your will with little to no effort, they are your's to command. Whether you use them to create an entirely new form, or use them in their most primitive state, these elements are very strong, and are not to be used lightly. However with your mastery evil, or good beware of your wrath. You can have at max 2. Below I am going to list some of the more common elemental powers.
- Chlorokinesis
- Electrokinesis
- Cryokinesis
- Pyrokinesis
- Geokinesis
- Aerokinesis
- Photokinesis
- Umbrakinesis
- Weather Control
- Gravity Manipulation
- Hydrokinesis
Magic
Magic has many uses, and doesn't have a set list of powers like some of the other categories. Magic can literally be used for anything, and accomplish a lot. There are a few special rules for Magic Users however considering that they have the potential to be incredibly powerful.
To be a Magic User you must be born into it as it is a genetic trait. Your bio history must contain your family lineage, and if you draw your power from the Lords of Order, or the Lords of Chaos. Your lineage must trace back at least 4 generations, and yes you can use canon magic user's. Now Demon's of the universe will also fit into this category. You must explain how you gained your demonic powers, and the like as well. This also includes powers gained from Godly/Mythical figures like the olympian gods, and so forth.
If you choose to be a Magic User it will take up 3 of your power slots(which will equal to three powers if you decide to have like a godly/demonic heritage tidbit) because well you can do practically anything you want with this power.
Psychic
The ability to use mind over matter in a very effective manner. You are the master of using your mind as a weapon, and obliterating other's with just a mere thought. You can levitate objects, read minds, and probably even project pure psychic energy as bolts of energy. You might even have enough power to project thoughts into another's head, or cast mental illusions on your foe to make them see something that is fake. Below is a list of common powers associated with this category.
- Telekinesis
- Psychokinesis
- Telepathy
- Clairvoyance
- Precognition
- Illusion Casting
Energy
Like magic there are so many different uses to the ways that this could be put to use that there is no way to put all the different variation of powers that belong to this category into one. Energy differs form magic because it is not a primordial, or mystical force it could include things like electricty, nuclear energy, beams of energy, the ability to generate whatever kind of energy you want, and discharge it. There are just so many possibilities that it is kind of ridiculous.
Technological
While not necessarily a power it needs to be addressed nonetheless. This type of power comes form someones ingenuis method of making unique gadgets that serve to replace super powers. Now because there isn't really a list of all the gadgets you can have I am going to give you creative freedom, and there will be some special rules just for you guys. If you want to create a technology based hero, or villain (think batman, or joker) then instead of power slots you get Tech Slots. You will get six of them since you are just an average human. With each tech slot you get one gadget.
Each gadget can have up to 2 functions any more than that, and you must expend additional tech slots. Now this gives you essentially 12 weapons to use against meta humans, and aliens.
Dimensional
Dimensional powers can include many things that are not found in the other categories. However because of how powerful these abilities are, they are banned until further notice. I don't need someone going around, and warping reality every five seconds.
Now there are some special rules for characters who wish to be a particular race, such as Atlantean, New God, Kryptonian etc... Biological will be your mastery. Each trait that you take from that race's physiology will take up 1 power slot. And if you want a secondary you must have a very well written bio, and have special permission from one of the admins. However there will be a guide concerning these special physiologies so you know. Now for all you who are moaning, and groaning about wanting all the powers of that race, chances are your character is incredibly young, and their bodies haven't fully matured to the stage where they get all of those nifty abilities yet. Even Superman didn't start out with all of his powers he grew into them.
Now to symbolize character growth, and so you aren't stuck with the same powers for the rest of eternity, you can spend 200 Experience, and in doing so you will get 1 power slot, or 1 upgrade slot which can be used to either strengthen a current ability, or get a new one entirely.
Unless taking one of the special races you are allowed a max of 8 power slots, and you have a max of 8 upgrade points that you can purchase. So you can either beef up one power all the way, or try to do it evenly. In the case of Hybrid characters (Kryptonian/Human etc..) you don't get the full powers of the superhuman race that makes up your genetic code. But those will be explained further in detail in the physiological guide.
Now the lists of powers that are here are not all the powers that you can use, its just more of a basic list to help you get started. Get creative with your abilities, and don't be afraid to mix, and match. You can find a list of powers on the DC wikia, to help get some ideas, or just even type into google searching for a list of Superpowers.
